We've come so far since Jan 2007: Best Arizona Small Team, Arizona Rider of the year, 1-2-3 overall in the Pro 1-2 points, several state titles, an Ultra Marathon Cycling Association (UMCA) record, and many many victories and podiums, not to mention reaching over 800 children with the RIDECLEAN message via the KIDZRIDECLEAN project! simply an excellent debut season for the team. Congrats to all involved and to our many sponsors without which the accomplishments listed above would not have been possible.
Please stay tuned for a link to be posted on the RIDECLEAN sites ( www.ridecleanteam.com and www.rideclean.net) to the video recapping all facets of the 2007 season.
The 2007 El Tour de Tucson marked a mile stone for the RIDECLEAN movement. Not only was this the final event for the very successful first year RIDECLEAN Team www.ridecleanteam.com but it was also the first formal discourse between Greg Lemond and RIDECLEAN www.rideclean.net regarding working together towards clean sport.
The evening before this charity ride of 10,000+ participants Lemond delivered an impassioned one hour speech on clean sport. It was the perfect venue to present Mr. Lemond with an honorary RIDECLEAN jersey (manufactured by Pactimo of course) and discuss his potential role as a spokesperson for this ever growing movement.
RIDECLEAN would simply like to say thank you to the El Tour de Tucson organization for the opportunity to utilize a booth for their three day expo, to Mr. Lemond for his gracious receptivity and to Pactimo for their continued support!
Big Congrats to Brian Forbes for becoming azcycling.com's 2007 rider of the year! He is also known as Hamfist or Hammy
You could tell success was coming from the BIO: My name is Hammy. I'm a guinea and I like to sleep in a shirt pocket. I am handsome, physically fit, very cuddly. My fur is shiny and sleek. Doesn't mention anything about riding fast?
